Makeka Montgomery, LMSW

Clinical Social Worker, Provider

Makeka Montgomery is a Licensed Master Social Worker who works with children, adolescents, adults, and families experiencing adversity, trauma, grief, family conflict, and other significant life challenges. She has a particular interest in helping clients rebuild stability, strengthen relationships, and develop the skills needed to move forward after difficult experiences.

Before becoming a therapist, Makeka served as an Army medic. That experience shaped her ability to remain steady during crises while supporting individuals facing some of life's most challenging moments. Her background continues to influence her work with clients who are coping with stress, loss, transition, and recovery.

Makeka utilizes evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Her work focuses on practical skill development, emotional regulation, improved communication, and helping clients translate insight into meaningful action.

Makeka's approach is compassionate, engaged, and straightforward. She works collaboratively with clients to identify strengths, overcome obstacles, and create lasting change both inside and outside the therapy room.
